Eduardochi

Eduardochi was a dedicated virtual "pet" released by the fried chicken fast food chain KFC, mimicking the popular Tamagotchi devices of the 1990s. The handheld device was released exclusively in Spain and was the 2025 edition of an annual KFC tradition in which, at Christmastime, the company releases a gag product featuring their chicken drumstick, named "Eduardo". In prior years, released products included Eduardo as a Christmas tree ornament and as a perfume.

The device contained four buttons to interact with the pet Eduardo. Upon turning on the game for the first time, the player has the ability to choose from one of ten possible drumstick character designs. Afterward, the player sets the time for the device and confirms the only possible name for the drumstick ("EDUARDO"), the digital Eduardo is then born and can be interacted with.

Events

Different possible "events" that can occur that the player must respond to include:

• Eduardo indicates when he "needs" something by displaying a small icon of a happy & sad face in the bottom-right corner of the screen. This indicates either that he is hungry, is beginning to get sick, or needs to go to the bathroom.
• If Eduardo becomes sick for too long, he will turn black and angry.
• If Eduardo needs to go to the bathroom for too long, he will turn black with a poop next to him.

Stats

The game tracks certain stats about Eduardo and the player. These include:

• Age - Sending Eduardo to school or playing minigames as "exercise" increases Eduardo's age.
• Weight - As Eduardo gets older, his weight increases.
• Energy - Feeding Eduardo increases his energy levels.
• Crunchiness - Making Eduardo happy through various interactions increases his "crunchiness" level.
• Money - Playing minigames increases the player's store of money, which players can spend in the Shop. Lucky Stars also gift money.

Actions

The player can interact with Eduardo and the game in the following nine ways (each of which contains its own icon on the main screen):

• Profile - Allows the player to view Eduardo's various stats & name.
• Food - Allows the player to feed Eduardo one of the five possible foods.
• Bathroom - Takes Eduardo to the bathroom and cleans up his feces.
• Education - Takes Eduardo to school to help him grow and increase his Age.
• Games - Provides the option to play one of two minigames, or to go to the Shop.
• • In one minigame, the player presses a button with the correct timing for Eduardo to catch a series of UFOs flying by.
• • In the second minigame the player pilots an airplane and has to avoid running into forks that pass by.
• • In the Shop, the player can spend their money to buy items such as a hat or a sword.
• Nap - Allows the player to turn the screen On or Off for Eduardo to take a nap.
• Doctor - Heals Eduardo when he is sick.
• Email - Allows the player to see open messages if they randomly receive an email, as well as check their number of Lucky Stars.
• • The messages that players receive can either have good or bad effects.
• • The more Lucky Stars a player has, the higher their luck is.
• Inventory - Allows the player to input a four-digit code, and they are rewarded with a secret gift for entering the correct code. Also allows the player to open their most recent secret gift.
