Elroy and the Aliens

Description

Elroy and the Aliens is a hand-drawn, story-driven point-and-click adventure, combining classic 1990s-style cartoon aesthetics with sci-fi mystery. The game follows Elroy Deluna, a young rocket engineer haunted by the disappearance of his father, Diego, nearly two decades ago. When an experimental rocket launch unearths a strange holographic message revealing that Diego was betrayed and trapped on a distant world, Elroy, alongside investigative reporter Peggie Wolf, sets off on an interstellar journey to uncover the truth and bring him home.

Gameplay stays faithful to the traditional point-and-click formula. Players use a two-button mouse interface to observe, interact, and combine items while solving a wide array of inventory-based puzzles. Each character, Elroy and Peggie, has their own inventory and can interact with the environment in distinct ways. The adventure spans about 60 illustrated locations across two planets, with hub maps that allow for fast travel. Dialogues are handled through branching trees with full voice acting. While much of the puzzle-solving involves logical item use and environmental observation, the game also introduces drag-and-drop mechanical puzzles and rune-based number challenges. There are multiple endings based on Elroy's final choice.
