English Civil War

English Civil War is a 2-player strategy game for the BBC Micro and Electron.

Each player places 11 units and their base on a small grid, with the goal being to destroy the enemy's base or all opposing units. Units are placed by each player at the beginning of each game. The number of trees on the map are chosen by the player. These prevent troop movement, decrease firing accuracy, but can be destroyed by artillery.

Unit types consist of cavalry, musketeers, and artillery. Each units has individual movement points and firing options. Movement points can be used to turn a unit, fire, or move a unit to a different square. Units will only attack or defend in the direction they are facing.
