Ether Vapor

Ether Vapor is a hybrid horizontal and vertical arcade-style shooter. Set in the country of Lydia, it follows a mysterious fighter pilot who swoops in in a prototype ship to defend against the enemy country of Chaldea. Levels switch action between horizontal and vertical playstyles, keeping players on their toes, and some scenes even switch to a chase-style view with the camera behind the player. In addition to regular shot types, players can also use lock-on missiles to take down hard-to reach enemies. In between gameplay, story scenes tell the game's plot in an unusual amount of detail for the genre.
