Final Fantasy IV: The After Years - Edward's Tale

Edward's Tale: Star-Crossed Damcyan is an optional story for Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. It is a separate download for mobile phones and a DLC for WiiWare version of the game.

Edward is a bard and the ruler of the land of Damcyan. He is one of the main characters in the original Final Fantasy IV. Edward's Tale begins with a mysterious meteor falling near Mount Hobbs. Edward's secretary, Harley, goes off to investigate the matter, but when she doesn't return, king Edward has to search for her, thus re-living some of the events of the original Final Fantasy IV which includes traveling into the Antlion's Den. Harley is a new class (secretary), one of her abilities being "Gil Toss": she can throw gold at enemies to cause damage.

Edward's Tale features mechanics introduced in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years - bands and the change of the moon phase. There is also a Challenge dungeon accessible after the end of the story. The Challenge dungeon is all about the money. It consists of several floors filled with NPCs, bosses and merchants, and you will need to trade, fight and run errands to get as much money as possible. At the end of the dungeon you can exchange various amounts of gold for treasures. You can open more then one treasure chest if you have the cash. Once you exit the dungeon you loose all the money you got there though.

Edward's Tale is not necessary for completing Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, however finishing this story will allow the players to export the characters with all their items, equipment and characteristics into the final tale - The Crystals.
