Fire Escape: An Interactive VR Series

Fire Escape is an interactive, episodic Virtual Reality project that puts players in Crown Heights, Brooklyn - where they watch a group of residents living across the street as they reckon with the changing neighborhood and gentrification of their building. Over the course of the night, things take a darker turn when a murder takes place, and the player's role grows for a voyeur to a participant, texting different characters as they become entangled in events. As the player watches multiple scenes unfold in real-time, you must choose what to watch knowing you are always missing clues, context, and narrative along the way. With a diverse, eclectic cast of stories, Fire Escape draws from anxiety-induced storytelling of Hitchcock to create a vivid, interactive storyworld for the form of VR.
