First Draft of the Revolution

First Draft of the Revolution is an epistolary interactive fiction game where the player is tasked with helping the characters write letters to each other. The main protagonist is a young woman in the 18th century, Juliette, who has been banished to the French countryside by her husband Henri for reasons unknown to her. In the world of the game, magic exists and Henri is a practitioner, with a household of enchanted objects including the paper that the letters are written on. Each chapter is presented as a letter from one character to another; the player must click on various phrases in the correspondence to change its wording into something more or less direct, to add new details, or to erase passages entirely. Once the letter is complete and both the character and player are satisfied with their choices, the letter is then sent and the next chapter begins.
