Fortress Underground
Description
Kingsoft's Fortress Underground for Atari computers is similar to the versions released on other platforms, but is a unique design. The player controls a hoverbike and is tasked with exploring a labyrinthine underground cavern and finding the exit. The cavern is full of gun emplacements, tanks, and some flying enemies, all of which can be taken out with the bike's laser cannon. In addition, there are rocket launchers that cannot be destroyed; only their projectiles can. The bike's energy levels continually decrease, with depletion meaning game over, but the energy can be refilled at recharging stations. The cave consists of distinct sections that are separately loaded. If the player should lose a life, they can continue at the current section.
