Fossil Hunter

Fossil Hunter is an educational game for the Apple II.

The player takes on the role of a fossil hunter, and has the opportunity to dig in a variety of rock layers to identify the contained fossilized animals. The player can learn more about the animal groups with a small encyclopedia included with the game. There are several gameplay options:

• Explore the Site - The player can dig in different labelled rock beds to see what fossils they can find.
• Find the Fossil - The player is given several fossils to locate, and must dig in the appropriate levels to locate all of the required fossils. Players receive a score based upon the number of digs required. There are three difficulty levels.
• Identify the Period - The player arrives at a quarry site of unknown age. They must recover fossils, and attempt to identify the time period by the fossils contained. There are 3 levels of difficulty, and the player received a score based upon the number of digs and the number of guesses required to answer the question.
