Full Retro Panic
Description
Full Retro Panic is a small boss rush run and gun game. The player fights a skull-faced boss in a five-phase battle, and with each phase the graphics become more modern, going from ZX Spectrum-style monochrome graphics up to a detailed 16-bit style. When the player or boss are low on health their appearance regresses to that of a previous era.
Health is gradually restored over time, and the player's max health is increased with each boss phase beaten.
Developed for Round 3 of the the GDKO 2023 game jam tournament.
