Gorillaz: Escape to Plastic Beach

Description

Gorillaz: Escape to Plastic Beach is a game based on Gorillaz, an English virtual band created by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. It consists of four animated members: 2-D (lead vocals, keyboards), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar), Noodle (guitar, keyboards) and Russel Hobbs (drums and percussion). Their debut album sold 7 million copies in 2001 and was accompanied by animated music videos. The band later even went on tour with projected video and later virtual characters on stage. This game was made as a promotion for their third music album, Plastic Beach, released in 2010.

This is a challenging eight level, 3D pay-to-play game follow-up to two free Flash game chapters. It has Murdoc take flight in a hang-glider and can easily be maneuvered thanks to simple tilt controls. Your goal is to prevent vocalist 2D from escaping Plastic Beach. Tapping the screen enables your machine guns for shooting down various targets including any vehicles 2D manages to escape with. Airborne hoops offer speed boosts an extra seconds on the clock. Once the main mission is completed, players can explore the area to collect bonuses and sail around the vast 3D world to earn more points for their final score. Follow talking seagulls and collect clues through elevator shafts and dark passageways. The final chapter of the game also includes an MP3 download of the band's new single 'Superfast Jellyfish' featuring De La Soul and Gruff Rhys from Super Furry Animals.
