Groov

Description
In Groov, the player controls a space ship which has to shoot down enemies. The controls use the common twin-stick formula: one stick controls movement and the other the direction of the shots. The ships shoots automatically when holding the second stick. Contact with an enemy is deadly and losing all lives mean restarting the game. However, an enemy will stay briefly on screen (white instead of red) before it explores and during this time it can be touched. The ship is confined to scrolling playing area.
The enemy formations and speed are generated based on the background music (songs from the funk group Funkmasonry). The player has a limited amount of slowdown power-ups available which can be used to slow down the song (and therefore the enemies). It can only be activated along with the music downbeat. After earning enough points, the game will proceed to the next wave. The game is over when the last wave is beaten, but the real goal is earning a high-score.
