GUI Game

Description

This game is a brief series of some 19 puzzles playing on assumptions about how a graphical user interface is expected to function. The tutorial level presents a background image and a button reading "Next Level". Clicking on it advances to the next level. From that point on, things are not so simple. Perhaps the button's display is disabled and needs to be turned on in the game settings in the menubar; perhaps it is hiding behind the menubar which needs to be disabled itself. Perhaps the mouse pointer does not move in the expected fashion; maybe the button moves away from the mouse pointer; perhaps the pointer is immobile and the player needs to move the button to it! Clicking anywhere on the game screen other than the "Next Level" button fails the level, but there are endless replays available. In later levels, portions of the background are blacked out, and the level instantly failed if the mouse pointer crosses a black patch. But what to do if the button to progress floats in the blackness like an island? These quandaries and more await the intrepid player.
