Gumshoe Online

Description
Gumshoe Online is a browser-based game that puts players in the role of private investigators in a corrupt city. The gameplay consists of solving stand-alone cases (three scenarios are available to choose from) by investigating crime scenes, talking to witnesses, and piecing together clues. At the beginning of a case, players can only visit a small number of locations. However, discovering clues and talking to characters unlocks other locations. Moving to a new location makes time pass in the game thus limiting a player's chances of uncovering the case and potentially missing vital clues.
Once enough investigation is complete, players can identify the correct case solution, choose the right suspect, and select five items as evidence to solve the case. If the solution, suspect selection and the evidence identified are correct, the case will be successfully solved. Upon submitting a solution for the case, players receive a score based on the number of clues found, the time taken, and the selection of evidence to support the solution. A leader board ranks the best players of the game.
The game shut down in 2008 after three years.
