Hexapawn
Description
Hexapawn is one of a package of games produced by The Code Zone. Games from this package were used, in various combinations, in around twenty different game compilation packages.
Hexapawn is a single-player, strategy game that is played against the computer on a chess board. The default game is played in a standard 8 x 8 chessboard though the game configuration screen does allow the player to select any square board from 5 x 5 to 10 x 10 and to change the pieces from pawns to tiles, smiley faces etc.
Each player starts with a rank of pawns on their respective row. On their turn each player can move one pawn one space forwards, or if an opponents pawn is in a diagonally adjacent square they may take that pawn. The winning player is the one who first gets one of their pawns to the opponents back row or is the player who is unable to move a piece.
The game is entirely mouse controlled. It is played in a window which cannot be re-sized. The game has sound, four levels of difficulty, in-game help screens, and a choice of playing piece, colour and screen background.
