Hobgoblin II
Description
Hobgoblin II is a single-player side-scrolling arcade shooter, and the sequel to Hobgoblin.
Fifty years have passed since King Zanok, the only son of King Garath, recovered the Golden Orb and put to flight all the Ghosts and Hobgoblins that were terrorizing the people of Altoris. Altoris is under attack again, and this time Zanok, the only heir to the throne of Altoris, has been chosen to go forth into battle against the evil Lord of the Hobgoblins and his vicious minions.
The player controls a character who can move left and right, jump, and throw their weapon directly forwards. The game play screen scrolls continuously to the right with numerous respawn points if the player loses a life by touching an enemy or falling in a pit. The player combats a number of enemies, including: zombies, ghosts, wraiths, lizardmen, and reapers. There are chests and vases which contain bonus items that can temporarily upgrade the player's weapon. Several of these can be collected for a larger temporary boost. Ladders and bridges that give way beneath the player increase the challenge. Time is limited to 10 minutes to complete the entire level.
