Home on the Range

Description
Home on the Range is a short quiz game where players are asked questions about a small variety of flora and fauna. A series of questions are displayed on the left side of the screen, with a drop down containing various possible answers. In the middle of the screen is a map of North America and on the right side there is a list of plants and animals; clicking on the name of a specimen displays a list of facts about it and colors in its habitat on the map. Multiple specimens can be selected at once, allowing players to see which habitats overlap, which is needed to answer some of the questions. There is no penalty for answering a question wrong so the player can always try again. The game is part of the Smithsonian Science for the Classroom program's grade 2 life science module, "How Can We Find the Best Place for a Plant to Grow?"
