Description
Home Run Derby is a 2-player arcade sports game for the Apple II
Based upon analog batting arcade games, the player and their human opponent take turns using a pinball paddle (representing a baseball bat) to hit a ball as it rolls down the center of the screen. Off in the outfield, are signs representing "out", "single", "double, "triple", and, "home run". The player scores a hit based upon the sign the ball strike. If the player misses the ball, it is a strike, and if the ball veers wildly to either side, it is a foul ball. The game encompasses 9 innings, and there is no computer opponent option. Gameplay options include easy, normal, and advanced pitchers, and each player can choose slow or fast balls.
The game comes packaged with a short multiple choice baseball quiz.
