Hot Wheels id
Description
Hot Wheels id is a connected racing system that uses a physical plastic track and real toy cars as part of its gameplay. The base unit of the Hot Wheels id track system, which is connected to other smart track pieces via USB, contains a reader that can read the NFC chips embedded in compatible 1/6th-scale vehicles. When a car passes through the base unit, the data is sent back via Bluetooth to the app, which keeps tabs on what vehicles have been registered, how fast they're traveling around the track and how far they've traveled. Registering and racing cars in the real world unlocks them inside the Hot Wheels id app, allowing the player to race those cars on a virtual track. The racing game is a standard racer with basic steering controls and unlockable power-ups. The in-game cars have a "cool down" period that will only pass with time, or by racing their physical counterparts on the plastic track.
