i saw her standing there but then she was a zombie is a game about a young man's relationship with his girlfriend who has turned into a zombie. This relationship is presented as a simple platformer with minimalistic graphics. There are fifteen single-screen levels and the goal in each level is to lure the zombie girl into a cage. Later levels introduce other zombies that need to be avoided and a gun which can be picked up and used against the zombies.
