Imaginext: Battle Castle

Description
Imaginext is a range of toys from Fisher-Price and this title supports a range of medieval toys - knights, castles, dragons etc.
The menu has five shield shaped buttons, apart from the obvious Play and Exit buttons there are:
- Imaginext Movie: This plays an advertisement that combines animation and live acting to promote the Forest Fortress and Pirate Raider toys and the Imaginext: Pirate Raider PC game which included a free character.
- Rescue Heroes Movie: Another advertisement this time for for the Rescue Heroes movie and the Rescue Heroes: Mission Select game.
- Help: This opens up a browser window and explains all the controls and mini games. It's effectively the game's manual, there is a manual inside the keep case but it holds only installation instructions and contact details foe multiple countries
The story starts with Dragomont, the game's baddie, releasing a mighty dragon from its prison and recruiting an army of orcs and knights to try and conquer the kingdom of Kingsland. The king is old and can no longer protect his people so he has decreed that whoever can vanquish the threat can take the crown.
Over twenty-five missions the player fights key-board controlled battles and, if victorious they earn new parts to help build their own castle, additional armour etc. During combat there are two shields on the screen, one in the upper left corner and the other in the upper right these show the status of the player's armour and their opponent's. Once the armour has gone the battle is over. After a battle the player just has to return to their base castle to reset their armour. Exploring the kingdom and battling other knights is all controlled by the keyboard as are some mini games while other mini games are mouse controlled.
Missions start of as a simple 'fight this knight' battle but later have multiple objectives such as 'capture this castle and rescue a captive' or 'beat this knight to get a potion then trade the potion in various castles until you get a red one'. The player is guided through the game by a squire whose advice is spoken and, after a victory, Dragomont may pop up and deliver a vague threat.
