In the Dark

In the Dark is a single-player, mouse controlled puzzle game. The game is played on a grid which contains hidden gems and is completely blank. The player uses the mouse to place tokens around the sides of the grid, these tokens are effectively light sources and they shine a beam along this respective columns/rows. When these beams of light pass near a hidden gem they are deflected or absorbed and using this information thus provided the player must deduce the location of the gemstones.

There are five grid sizes, 6x6, 7x7, 8x8, 9x9 & 10x10 , the bigger the grid the more gems there are to find, and four window sizes which are independent of the grid size. The base game has a human player looking for gems that the computer has hidden, but there's also a 'Human Hides Gems' option where the player places the gems for a friend to find.
