It's Killing Time
Description
In this game, the player controls a professional hitman -- part of a cartel of paid killers who, between contracts and freelance gigs, find their organization under attack from an unknown external force. What style the assassin displays in the face of this threat -- cool or unhinged, hands-on or laser-rangefinder, stealthy or brutal -- is up to the sum of the player's selections from options presented. In addition to the business of staying alive to see the story through to its end, there are also financial and even romantic considerations to be weighed carefully.
In keeping with the Choice of Games house style, a plethora of varying play styles can bring the player to one of several successful endings, provided they play consistently to the strengths of the character they carefully crafted: what looks like simple choose-your-own-adventure hyperfiction hides sophisticated weighing of skills and statistics, making this more akin to a CRPG with a hyperfiction interface.
