Janosik
Description
Janosik is an unofficial port of Atari game of the same title released back in 1994. This platform game is loosely based on the story around Juraj Jánošík, a XVII / XVIIIc. Slovak highlander, leader of Carpathian brigands. In Poland the legend was revived by a popular TV series from 1970s, making him a fictional XIXc. gallant folk hero, who only robs the rich Austrian nobles to help oppressed local peasants, "Robin Hood way".
The goal of the game is freeing Maryna from evil baron Herbert. The gameplay is divided into three areas: forest, village and castle. Janosik is armed with a shepherd's axe, reliable weapon to fight with wild animals and bandits. Some of encountered opponents (piranhas) and obstacles must be avoided, as contact with them may result in loss of life.
