Game cover: Junior Brain Train: Memory Games

Description

Junior Brain Train: Memory Games is one of a trio of children's educational titles, there's another title teaching Logic and another entitled Words. Memory Games is a series on mini games intended to improve the memory skills, including the memorisation skills of sounds, numbers and words as well as visual and spatial skills.

The game uses player identities so that multiple players can take part, just not at the same time. In the game the player meets Max and Claire, two cheerful little aliens who are the hosts for the games.

There are twelve mini games in this title, each game has a title screen, a menu and a worked example. At the end of a set of puzzles the player is given a score and they earn flasks of fluid - the amount of fluid earned depends upon the score and the difficulty of the questions. Max and Claire then pour the fluid into some bottles that resemble lab equipment. As they progress through each puzzle the player unlocks new difficulty levels and therefore can earn more fluid. When all the bottles are filled the player has a chance at a bonus round.

The game takes place in an attic divided into two rooms, at three locations there are four hotspots each of which is linked to a mini games. The mini games are:

  • The Right Character

  • Back To The Middle Ages

  • Elephant Memory

  • Bird Songs

  • Pay Attention

  • Private Eye

  • Words Where Are You?

  • Around The World

  • Find Your Way

  • The Right Shape

  • The Squeaking Mouse

  • Memo Groups

Some of the games associate images and/or words with sounds and a headset or speakers are needed to play them.
