Junior Topics: 'SATS' Key Stage 2

Junior Topics: 'SATS' Key Stage 2 is a single-player, mouse controlled, series of mini-games designed to teach history.

The title consists of four mini-games. In each game the player selects a period in history on which to answer multiple choice questions, the periods covered here are the Ancient Greeks, the Egyptians, the Romans, the Vikings, the Middle Ages, the Aztecs, the Tudors, the Stuarts, the Georgians, the Victorians, and the first and second World Wars. In all the mini-games the player is asked a multiple choice question and the answer is associated with a colour, the differences between the games lies in the way the player selects their answer. The mini games are:

• Trucker: The player is asked a question and is given four answers. Each answer is associated with a colour and across the bottom of the screen runs a parade of trucks of the same colour. The player uses the mouse to control a hopper and must dump its load into the truck of the correct colour.

• Flipit: Once again the player is asked a question and the question is associated with a colour. In this mini-game each colour is associated with a playing card, the cards are then flipped face down and shuffled as if in a game of 'Find The Lady'. The player's task is to identify the card with the colour that matches the correct answer, keep track of it as the cards are shuffled and then select it.

• Tweet: In this mini-game the player must feed a worm to the bird of the correct colour to answer the question.

• Robotz: In this game each of the possible answer is identified by a robot of a different colour, the player uses the mouse to control a tank which they must crash into the correct robot.

The game has sound effects, music and a table that shows the player's scores as a SATS grade.
