Kidō Senshi Z-Gundam: Zenpen - Zeta no Kodō

Kidō Senshi Z-Gundam (Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam) is an episodic side-scrolling action game based on the 1985 animated TV show of the same title. It is a direct adaptation of the TV series, including numerous clips from the show at key points in the story. This first part adapts the first half of the series, following protagonist Kamille Bidan, a young Gundam pilot for the AEUG rebel group fighting against corrupt Earth Federation forces.

The game is very similar to the first Gundam title for the Saturn, and includes two main modes of play: ground-based run-and-gun shooting, and space-flight shooting where the player can move freely around the screen. Waves of enemies appear on each stage, sometimes from the foreground or background, and the player earns experience for destroying them; pilot level affects both available combat abilities as well as certain story and character events, and can be carried over into the second part of the game.
