Knight-errant

Knight-errant is a chess-based puzzle game. You play as a lone Knight whose army lost a battle and who must go on a quest to save the defeated King's daughter from her captors. To do so, the Knight must traverse a strange checkered landscape and defeat the enemy soldiers he encounters along the way, who are all represented by other chess pieces: pawns, rooks, bishops, etc. All the characters in the game, including the Knight, can only move as their corresponding pieces do in chess. This turns level navigation and battles into puzzles the player must solve. The narrative is told through the puzzles, which can only be solved in a linear order.
