KU²: Front Row

A fleet of space transport ships "SATERA-e9" had to make an emergency landing on an asteroid Kuapra. There they capture a strange alien creature Ku. Scientists discovered electromagnetic waves in Ku's body and designed the control and regulatory system of Ku's behavior as an application. Wein Shadouwick pilots a spaceship called XF-33V/U001 equipped with two Ku's, it is mankind's last hope against an evil alien threat called Soridum. Mission is to completely destroy Soridum's home planet.

KU²: Front Row is a vertically scrolling shoot'em up game. There's a letter-coded power up item that cycles as it leaves the screen: M is homing missiles, L is laser, V is spread vulcan and S is speed-up. All 3 weapons can be upgraded twice by collecting the same item successively, with speed-ups providing three additional levels. Two Ku's are positioned on either side of your ship. These two modules must be fed with enemies, and the more they eat, the more powerful their shots will be. A pulsating green tint means they’ve soaked the maximum amount of energy, whose blast upon hitting a target results in a big explosion.
