L'enlèvement
Description
L'enlèvement is a graphic adventure game in French in which you take the role of Detective Mickael Alan. The story begins in your New York office, where a businessman, in Mr. Kadok's pay, has come to ask you to find Gwendoline, who was kidnapped in the middle of Paris two days ago. To cover your initial expenses, he has given you a check for $5,000.
The commands can be entered via verb-noun commands with the keyboard to interact with the surroundings, such as "OUVRIR TIROIR" or "PRENDRE CHEQUE". Some words and verbs may be understood by the program in one situation but not in another.
To navigate your way through the locations in the game you uses the commands Nord (North), Sud (South), Est (East), Ouest (West), Haut (Up), Bas (Down). These can be entered either by typing the direction itself, a single-word command, or by typing the complete action, for example, "ALLER OUEST". The game also supports one-letter commands such as N, S, E, O, H, B.
Pressing the "Return" key switches from graphical display to text mode or from text mode to graphical mode. This not only allows you to read the text preceding the text at the bottom of the graphical screen, but also indicates the possible directions of movement (N, S, E, O, H, B) and which objects are visible in the scene you are in. The directions and objects shown at the top of the text display are only those directly visible; for example, an object in a drawer will not be "visible" until you look into the drawer.
The "INVENTAIRE" command allows you to obtain a list of the objects in your possession. This command automatically displays the items in text mode. After executing it, you can press the "return" key to return to the graphical display if you wish.
The "SAUVER JEU" command allows you to save the game wherever you are. The "RAPPEL JEU" command allows you to recall a previously saved game. The two previous commands automatically cause the display to be in text mode. After executing them, you can press 'return' to return to the graphical display if you wish.
