Le Tour de France 2012
Description
Le Tour de France is a cycling game which covers the most prominent professional cycling tour; the Tour de France. It is largely similar to its predecessor and the player takes control over a single athlete.
The rider, who takes one of the typical cycling roles, does automatically move forward and the player only gently steers into the general direction and controls speed changes (breaking and attacking). However, energy management is of the most importance - trying to get a fast lead is useless when the rider is exhausted after half of the stage. There is also the option to communicate with other athletes from the same team in order to coordinate tactical maneuvers. The player does not have to personally play all of the tour; a few sections per stage can be simulated by the AI based on parameters set by the player beforehand.
The most important additions to the predecessor are a refined AI, more interactions with teammates, a few UI changes, graphical improvements and a multiplayer mode. Here two players compete during the last few kilometers of a stage; the starting situation depends on the used athletes.
