Game cover: Learning about Counting

Description

Learning About Counting is a simple educational title for young children. It comes on a CD together with a set of counting bears which are used on a counting table, a printed plastic sheet measuring 275mm by 340mm.

The title itself is a very simple affair;* There's a menu screen which shows a tree house set in a garden, a small yellow 'thing' in a jester's hat performs the introductions, her name is Ella and she's sure we're going to have lots of fun.

  • Clicking on, or near the tree house opens up the 'Counting Room'. In here there are lots of groups of items and when the player clicks on one the number of items are counted and there's a short animation as the jiggle or dance
  • Within the 'Counting Room' is a window and the word 'ACTIVITY' is printed on the blind, clicking on this takes the player to the game. There's only one game in this title and it's a math game in which the player is presented with simple sums such as "5 + 5 =?" or "10 - 3 = 7 ?" and three possible answers shown on upturned flower pots. The player selects an answer from the flower pot and if they are correct a flower pops up in the background. After ten correct answers the game is over and the player is invited to play again

The product is made with Macromedia.
