Legacy

Legacy is a text adventure game with graphics where the player is Dagon Bathraal, a young magician who is sent on a mission by one of the Wizards of the Universe, a powerful organization of mystics. His task is to retrieve a mystical orb which is located in an evil castle hidden deep within a forest of tangled trees.

The game screen is split into two parts. The top half shows an image of the location while the bottom part has a textual description along with a text prompt where the player can interact with the game by entering text commands that start with a verb and may include nouns, adjectives and prepositional phrases, for example move the table, take the box, examine the book on the table. Navigation can be done by typing the direction the player wants to go but it is also possible to use the mouse and choose the desired item in a drop down menu. The game also uses a drop down menu to show the player's inventory although interaction with items is only possible through the prompt.
