Lexibook Electronic Thesaurus: Model DC 750

Description
The Lexibook Electronic Thesaurus: Model DC 750 is a small handheld dictionary with thesaurus, synonym, grammar, homophone, conjugation and inflection functions. It also has a crossword helper function, anagram solver and a games mode.
The display is nineteen character wide black-on-grey in a dot-matrix style with each character being seven dots high and five dots wide. When the device needs to display lengthy text it scrolls across the display right to left.
Games mode is selected by pressing the yellow button that looks like the five on a dice, one of four such buttons situated above the QWERTY keyboard, the games button is the second from the right. The games available are:
- Hangman: the game starts by letting the player select the number of characters in the word to be found, the shortest length is three characters and the longest is thirteen. The game then displays the word as a series of question marks, e.g. ??????. The player presses letters and the game either places the letter into the word or it responds with a message such as 'There is no P'. The player has nine attempts to guess the word before it's Game Over.
- Jumble: Once again the player sets the word length but this time the game provides a jumbled word such as BBYUGR for GRUBBY and the player's task is to enter the correct, unscrambled word.
- Word Search: After selecting a word length a word is displayed together with a number. The number shows how many words of three or more letters can be made from the original source word, it is the player's task to enter them all and as each word is entered and accepted the displayed number decreases.
The device weighs just over 50 g without its CR2032 battery and measures approximately 9.5cm x 6cm x 1.25cm.
