Links OS/2

Description

Links OS/2 is a native port for OS/2 Warp 3 (or better, also works on the recent eComStation) of the famous golf simulator Links 386 Pro, developed by Stardock.

Links OS/2 is more than a straight port. It takes advantage of everything that the Presentation Manager of OS/2 could offer, and the DIVE technology of graphic card drivers. It also includes features only seen in the previously released Links LS '97, such as multiple views rendering in parallel, high-resolution graphic modes and 16-bit colour. In that way it improves over the contemporary Microsoft Golf 3.0, also based on Links 386 Pro, and made available five months before Links OS/2. Both run on GUI-based operating systems.

Like in Links LS, the player can set up different views of the course, wind state, scorecard, pin, feet setup, etc. It also accepts new sound files. The game comes with the Firestone South Course to play, and it can use any add-on course for Links: The Challenge of Golf and Links 386 Pro, including the courses in the first three Microsoft Golf versions.
