Lunar Invaders

Lunar Invaders is a typical Space Invaders variant. The player controls a space ship at the bottom of the screen and has the task to fend off the alien invaders assaulting the Moon. The ship can be moved to the left or to the right of the screen. In order to proceed to the next level all alien waves must be destroyed. The player can shoot them using the ship's main gun. It can be temporarily upgraded to more powerful weapons such as cluster rockets, rapid fire, rail gun, lightning gun, sideswipers, 3- and 5-stage rockets. Some of them even have Ultra versions, which increases the speed rate in the case of the rapid fire, or the number of missiles for the others. These power-ups are dropped when destroying the flying saucers patrolling the top of the screen.

The aliens can shoot back, and a single well-placed shot is enough to destroy the ship. The player has only a total of three available. Additionally, the game is over when at least one alien successfully lands on the lunar surface.
