MacSki
Description
MacSki is a 1-player arcade skiing game for the Macintosh.
The player controls a skier on a 2D vertically-scrolling hill, with the goal of avoiding obstacles and reaching the bottom of the hill in record time. The skier is controlled by the mouse left or right, and can accelerate or decelerate as they move down the hill. If the player hits an obstacle they are temporarily knocked down. Too many hits, and the skier is carried off the hill on a stretcher.
Top scores can be saved, and individual tracks can be replayed. Weather can be added to make courses more difficult. Obstacles include rocks, trees, logs, snowmen, squirrels, rabbits, bears, and a variety of other dangers on the slope.
Game play options include: timer, where the player tries to reach the bottom as quickly as possible, slalom, where the player skis around flags, giant slalom, which consists of skiing around gates, and downhill, where the player skis between poles. There are also other variants, that include: snowmen, where the player tries to run into every snowman on the hill; penguin, where the player tries to run over penguins that move about; and stonehenge arches, where the player must ski through large stone arches.
