Mad Skills Motocross: Chasing the Dream
Description
After the release of the Early Access demo for Motocross: Chasing the Dream, Turborilla AB reached out expressing interest in co-development, which resulted in a plan for the superceding title Mad Skills Motocross: Chasing the Dream. The two studios created a new demo and pitched the game at GDC 2023 to seek a funding and publishing deal. An unnamed publisher was close to inking a deal with LCQ Studios before pulling out at the last minute. LCQ head Michael Hodges speculated that this was the publisher's cost cutting measure due to difficulty recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. The two studios focused on creating an online multiplayer demo next, as it was a condition of many prospective publishers from GDC 2023, and brought the game back to GDC 2024. No publisher has taken up their pitch.
After this failure to secure funding, the Mad Skills Motocross project was cancelled and LCQ and Turborilla ended their partnership. The physics system, multiplayer system and modding system created in the development were kept around by LCQ for a different, yet unnamed project in the future with scaled down scope. Michael Hodges promised that owners of the 2022 Motocross: Chasing the Dream Early Access demo will automatically own this new game.
