Mad Venture

Mad Venture is a text-based adventure game for the Apple II,

Loosely based upon the works of Alice in Wonderland, the player's goal is to discover all the treasures scattered throughout the land, and return them to the theatre entrance within 186 turns. If these treasures are gathered in time, the player gains admittance to the show, and receives a special reward. All commands are via VERB NOUN text entry, and the player had an inventory which can be checked at any time. The player also has strict inventory limits, further adding to the strategy elements of the game. The game's puzzles are heavily based upon puns and wordplay, and the player must discover numerous secrets throughout the underground caverns. In many places, chambers and hallways don't lead the same direction every time, and many puzzles need to be solved via trial and error.
