Magic Words

Magic Words is a single player, shareware, Tetris style game.

This, however, is Tetris with a twist, instead of matching coloured blocks to form lines and score points, here the player is given blocks containing letters and has to form words. Each level has a target, for example level one’s target is to form the word ‘HELLO’ which sounds simple enough but within the word ‘Hello’ are the words ‘Ell’ and ‘Hell’ so if they are completed before the full word the letters disappear and all the preceding good work has been undone. Once the target has been achieved the game continues with blocks falling ever faster until the screen is filled, that completes the level but does not end the game, the player then enters their name for the high score table and moves on to the next level.

All the falling blocks consist of two letters, words can be made horizontally or vertically and the game can be played either with the keyboard or the joystick. The shareware game has fifteen levels while the registered game has one hundred and twenty. The game also plays in English or German.
