Mai-chan's Sweet Buns
Description
Mai-chan's Sweet Buns is a small tile-matching puzzle game where Mai-chan must serve pastries to customers at her bakery.
Customer orders are presented as cards that are drawn four at a time from the deck. All orders are for one to three pastries of one type. Pastries can be selected in horizontal or vertical lines. Only lines that exactly match the length of a current order can be selected.
Special powers can be used to get out of a tough spot, but these consume star power that is rewarded when lining up four pastries of the same type.
Clear all orders in the deck to win the game. Winning games reward coins that can be used to unlock new special powers. There's also an unlockable hard difficulty.
The game was developed for the game jam A Game By Its Cover 2018, and based on a mock-up Famicom game cover made by artist Louis Lloyd-Judson for the Famicase Exhibition 2018.
