Mario Party 10
Description
Mario Party 10 is a multiplayer party board game with a collection of over 70 mini-games. It features Mario and other familiar characters from the series, offering several modes that focus on competition, cooperation, and the use of Amiibo figures.
In Mario Party mode, up to four players travel together in a vehicle along themed game boards. Dice rolls determine movement, and the group collects Mini Stars while triggering events and competing in mini-games. Unlike earlier entries in the series, all players move together, but their individual totals of Mini Stars decide the winner at the end of the board.
Bowser Party mode introduces an asymmetrical format. One player takes control of Bowser using the Wii U GamePad, while up to four other players act as the heroes. The Bowser player pursues the group across the board, using special dice and powers to initiate Bowser mini-games. In these contests, Bowser attempts to drain the hearts of the opposing team, while the heroes try to survive long enough to reach the end of the stage.
Amiibo Party is designed around Nintendo’s Amiibo figurines. Up to four players can scan compatible figures to bring characters onto modular game boards. These boards use mechanics closer to earlier Mario Party titles, with individual movement, coins, and stars. Special spaces, items, and power-ups unique to Amiibo Party alter the pace of the matches, such as the Super Mushroom space that lets a character grow larger.
Free Play mode is for accessing unlocked mini-games directly, and serves as a collection room for viewing in-game trophies and extras.
