Mars Rover

Mars Rover is a Moon Patrol variant set on Mars. Like in the original game, the player controls a vehicle which is constantly moving to the right and can speed up, slow down, and jump to avoid obstacles or hazards. The rover is also simultaneously firing lasers capable of destroying obstacles and hazards from its vertical and forward cannons. There are sequential checkpoints with names which correspond to the letters of the alphabet (Alpha, Bobo, Canine etc).

The main hazards in the game are Martian rocks which can either be destroyed or jumped over and enemy spaceships which drop bombs that must be avoided. Destroying spaceships can cause them to drop temporary power-ups such as increased firing speed or a homing missile launcher which replaces the vertical cannon.
