Megablast
Description
Megablast is a side-scrolling space shooter where your ship fires simultaneously in four directions. The developers had intended there to be controls to allow the player to control the direction of the laser beams. But this was dropped, most likely due to time constraints.
The game takes place at the end of the 21st century. War and hunger have disappeared on Earth, but there are strange disappearances of women worldwide The cause is found by the investigation of a secretly organized 'Defending-the-earth-from-the-outside-organization'. A strange contagious disease prevails throughout a planet Zancs in a dark nebula, and women's generative power is lost. The aliens then decide to abduct the women on Earth as substitutes for having their descendants.
Downson and Bogey start on a journey to the space by using Megablast. This is a space fighter equipped with all available products of the earth's scientific power in order to rescue the earth women as well as lovable Sindy who is also abducted together with the other earth women.
The actual game contains no connections to the backstory, at all.
