Meitantei Holmes: Kiri no London Satsujin Jiken

Description
In London, the city of fog, on the night of March 16, 1895, a woman knocks on the door of 221B Baker Street, where Holmes and Watson are boarding. Her name is Veronica Norton and she wants to talk about her father, Professor William Norton. Professor William Norton, who has just retired from the British Museum, left his house for a walk yesterday morning but has not returned. Veronica, afraid something has happened to him, wants Sherlock to investigate.
Meitantei Holmes: Kiri no London Satsujin Jiken is the second instalment of the Towa Chiki's Holmes series and a Japanese adventure game in which all actions can be performed through a series of menu options displayed next to a static image of the current scene, (go outside, listen to the story, enter inside, look, search, call, show, take and ?), like many Japanese graphic text adventure games.
The game is presented in first person with the exception when the "go outside" option is used. This brings up the movement mode; a 2D map where Holmes and Watson can travel on foot or by carriage to their destinations that have been revealed by clues or in conversations. When riding a horse-drawn carriage it brings up the adventure screen where you can select a destination. Then you will automatically reach your destination, but travelling by carriage costs money.
If you want to talk to people you use the "listen to the story" option. To speak with Inspector Lestrade or Inspector Gregson you will need to send a telegram from the post office first before you can visit Scotland Yard to talk to them. This also costs money. If you run out of money, you will not be able to continue the investigation.
The "look" option is to see where you are, who is there, or what you are doing. "search" will bring up a magnifying glass where you can go searching onscreen graphics for hot spots. If the person you want to speak to is not in the same room as Sherlock and Watson, but in the same building you can call them with the "call" option". The "?" option is used to change characters; from Sherlock to Watson and vice versa to do things that can only be done by Holmes or things that can only be done by Watson. As Holmes you can use the option "observe" with a keen observation eye and Watson can only use the option "Write a diary" to save the game. The option "listen to opinion" can be used to listen to Holmes (Watson)'s thoughts.
