Miss Management

Description

Miss Management is a time management game that puts the player in the shoes of Denise, the newly-appointed office manager of Conkling Associates International, which turns out to be a severely dysfunctional company staffed by colorful individuals.

At the start of each level, the player is given a list of goals that must be completed in four days or less and must assign incoming tasks efficiently so they can be completed on time. Each employee has a different level of affinity with the four types of tasks—technical, financial, writing, art—which affects how quickly they can complete that task, and how stressful they find it.

The stress level of employees can be lowered by having them take their favorite type of break, such as smoking, doodling or playing an arcade machine, although some of the other employees will find doing these very activities stressful in itself. A stressed-out employee eventually burns out and is out for the day. Denise can also burn out if tasks get delayed too much.

Each completed task earns Denise money which she can use to purchase power-ups like coffee cups (to work faster), donuts (to relieve stress), or training manuals (to get better at one type of tasks for a day).

Like a TV series, the game's progress is divided into five seasons and 30 episodes (levels). There is a fair bit of office drama happening in short animated scenes between each levels, with people scheming, falling out, quitting, new employees joining, and the company moving to new offices.
