Monarch

Monarch is a strategy game for the Atari 8-bit computer.

Congratulations! You've been elected premier of Setats Destinu, a small communist island 30 x 70 miles long. Your job is to decide upon the country's budget and distribute money to your conutrymen from the communal treasury. The player's goal is to feed and manage their population. Each person needs 100 Rallods (a form of money) per year to survive. Each turn, the player must distribute land to foreign interests for industrial purposes, distribute money to your population for its survival, plant crops, and set money for pollution control. If the player does not keep enough population alive, they will be forced to abdicate at the end of the turn. The goal is to survive for a total of 8 turns. There are multiple difficulty levels available.
