Monster Manor

Description

Monster Manor is an exploration game where the player is investigating a haunted house, battling ghosts and finding treasure as they go. As part of the StreetPass Mii Plaza, collecting StreetPass tags from other players is integral to the game. In order to explore each floor, the player must open up "rooms" by taking pieces from other Mii players, with the shape and size decided randomly and the color of the piece determined by the tagged Mii's shirt. Placing pieces of the same color next to each other creates larger rooms in the house, containing treasure chests and orbs. Better weapons and other bonus items may be obtained from treasure chests, while orbs can be used to upgrade the player's weaponry.

Occasionally the player will encounter different ghosts, and must defeat the ghost in order to continue with the game. To attack they must fire their weapon, but they also have the option to defend against attacks by putting up a shield. Both actions drain the weapon's battery and the player must wait for it to refill (or use a backup battery) if they deplete it. Should the player lose, they must leave the manor and lose any other StreetPass tags they had waiting in the game, and can only return once they've loaded a new batch of Miis into the Mii Plaza. Occasionally, a guest Mii will assist the player in exploring the manor, battling alongside them. To proceed to the next floor, the player must locate the stairs, which are occasionally guarded by a boss ghost. The boss must be defeated to proceed upstairs.

After 30 floors the player will encounter the boss Arzodius. Once defeated they may continue on for 20 more floors, encountering Arzodius again on the 50th floor. This represents the final battle of Monster Manor.
