Mumin och de mystiska vrålen

Description

Mumin och de mystiska vrålen (Moomin and the mysterious howls) is an adventure story interspersed with minigames taking place in the Moomin valley.

The game can be played either as a sequential adventure story, or just the separate mini-games on their own, in three difficulty setting for different player ages.

The story tells that the Moomin valley inhabitants have been disturbed by load howlings coming from somewhere out in the sea, worrying everyone and keeping them from sleeping well. Now Moomin knows that the Snork have been building a flying machine, and wants to borrow it to fly out and investigate the sound source from above.

However, the machine is not ready, it's missing several parts - a propeller, a steering wheel and an anchor, and worse - the design drawings have disappeared. The Snork asks if Moomin can look for the missing parts, and maybe find the drawing for him.

The parts can be found in several locations in the valley, but of course they have to be traded for by doing some service or playing some games to win them from those who currently hold them. Games are of animal memory & association type with Stinky, a battleship game with Little My, a spooky story & audio-selection game with a ghost, and assisting Mr. Hemulen with sorting stamps, then finding flower seeds & planting them in the garden.

Once this is done, the internals of the flying machine also need attention, which is done by connecting water-pipes in a pipe-mania game, and connecting electrical lights in following a device/button-pushing sequence in a 'Simon-says' memory game.

When the machine is ready, Moomin can fly off and finally investigate the howling, and it's source, finally crash landing on a small island. It turns out the island is a large seamonster who is having a belly-ache, cause by overeating candy from several crates that some ship has lost overboard. To help the monster, Moomin has to feed it some medicine, which happens to be on board the flying machine. This is done in a platforming game, where the pills are made to jump from Moomin onto small clouds and bounce up along the monsters neck into it's mouth. The monster promises to stop eating too much candy, and Moomin and the machine is transported back to the Moomin valley by the grateful monster, and life goes back to normal as the adventure ends.
