Music in Motion
Description
Music in Motion is a game used in healthcare providing activities designed to improve the patient’s attitude about rehabilitation and ROM exercises using music-and rhythm-based activities. Using visual scanning, trunk control, and bilateral shoulder movements, patients can engage in musically driven exercises. Patients must coordinate body movements timed to music to receive rewards and visualize their progress from session to session.
The game is part of the REAL Immersive System y-Series offering a hub of different activities of which Music in Motion is one. The platform is built around a modified HTC Vive Focus (a virtual reality helmet) which the patient uses, paired with an Android tablet which the therapist uses to guide the experience. It is only meant to be used with a therapist present.
